There is no party like a celebrity party. And when it comes to weddings, our favourite A-listers have really stepped up the game. A simple and plain ceremony in the hometown is out of the question and their chosen destination has to be gossip-worthy.

Whether they have chosen an exotic island, a historic fortress, a Middle-Ages castle or a lovely and unique chapel, their wedding destinations have caused many sighs throughout the whole world. Now let us see who were the ones whose destinations have given us the oh-my-goodness chills?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Chateau Miraval, France

The Hollywood royalty duo had had a worthy wedding ceremony in a 17^th century castle. The 1, 200 acre property includes not only the very castle, but pine forests, terraced hillsides, vineyards, moat, olive groves and even a private lake.

Renting Chateau Miraval for the wedding destination was not enough for our favorite red-carpet couple, they wanted it all by themselves, so they bought it.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel, Sydney

Aussie’s most beloved couple had just as unique and non-Hollywood wedding we would all expect. They were so modest that they have not even left Australia. Yes, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban got married in a one-of-a-kind gothic-style chapel in Sydney.

It is no wonder they have chosen to stay, because Australia has so many lovely destinations, and waterfront wedding venues Sydney is offering are simply staggering.

David and Victoria Beckham, Luttrellstown Castle, County Dublin, Ireland

Celebrities and castles, there is some mysterious bond. Maybe because celebs are the royalties of today. The most fashionable A-listers decided for Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland for their most romantic day. And this castle has it all, from a ballroom that accommodates more than 100 guests to breathtaking surrounding gardens. Quite a fairytale, right?

Katy Perry and Russell Brand, Jaipur, India

Now, here is an interesting choice. Though their marriage was short-winded, the very wedding ceremony was so original and fabulous that we are talking about it even today. The comedian and the pop star decided to get married in a luxury resort in India, wearing traditional Indian wedding attire.

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin, Venice, Italy

It is true that Venice is one of the most romantic cities on the world, and our old charmer George Clooney is quite aware of that. That is why his wedding took place in a glamorous hotel Aman Canal Grande that used to be a palace originated from 16^th century. Did we mention that the hotel has a spectacular view on Venice’s Grand Canal?

Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, Bahamas

Bahamas are known to be a piece of paradise on Earth, which, of course, makes them the ideal place for tying the knot. Penelope and Javier decided for this destination as a getaway from the reporters and cameras. The endeavour was almost successful and the wedding remained low-profile and intimate. Still, Bahamas are glamorous by themselves, so we cannot say that the ceremony was entirely modest.

Seal and Heidi Klum, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Another couple on our list that did not see their “happily ever after” but it was nice while it lasted. The couple got married in a private and rather secret ceremony on the beach of Puerto Vallarta. The only guests were their daughter and the officiant. For the next seven years of their marriage, they had an annual tradition of renewing the vows on the same beach. We cannot imagine a more romantic place than a Mexican beach for that.

Maybe some of these celebs do not know how to keep a marriage, but they surely know how to start one with style. We wish them the best of luck, and hope that their red-carpet colleagues will soon amaze us with their destination weddings.
